Little Touches Make All The Difference
I bought a pair of boots last week.
I went to the Australian Boot Company store, tried some boots on, and settled on a pair.
I asked about protecting them from snow and salt, and the salesperson said they would put on the first protective coating at no charge. It was a 15 minute process. Then she handed me a card and said "There's a nice pastry shop across the street. Go have a coffee on us while we do this."
The orange card (company colours) said "This booty's on us."
So I walked across the street to a fantastic little pastry shop, and had a nice coffee for 15 minutes and relaxed.
It was such a little touch. But such a nice one - and one that made me feel very good about their company.
Funny how that works. A nice store, a nice staff, good product, but the touch of a free coffee makes me an evangelist for the company.
I'm going back to my company on Monday to look for a small opportunity to be that nice to my clients.
And that smart.
