This week, we explore Voices of Influence.

This week, Under The Influence explores how voices influence us in all corners of our lives. From phone operator voices, to the voices we hear at airports, to the voices we hear on GPS systems and voicemail, we'll look at how and why certain voices are chosen. We'll also discuss a very interesting theory that the famous voice of HAL from the film, 2001: A Space Odyssey has forever influenced computer voices for all time. On the other hand, why is it that some expensive celebrity voices in commercials are hardly recognizable, while other anonymous voices are sometimes twice as influential? The human voice is remarkable - from its texture, to its qualities, to its warmth or aloofness, it is one of the greatest tools of influence in our lives.
